Add a game to your Home Screen
Every game on Boop Arcade can be added to your phone or computer like an app. It takes ten seconds, needs no app store and no account, and the game then:
- opens with one tap from its own icon
- fills the whole screen, without the browser's address bar
- keeps working without internet, on a plane or in the metro
First open the game you want to keep (for example Plane Game), then follow the steps for your device.
iPhone and iPad
- Open the game in Safari.
- Tap the Share button . On iPhone it is in the toolbar at the bottom of the screen (tap the ⋯ button first if you only see that), on iPad at the top right.
- Scroll down the list and tap Add to Home Screen .
- Tap Add in the top right corner. The game's icon is now on your Home Screen.
Tip: in the game, the Add to Home Screen button on the game over screen shows these steps too.
Android
Chrome
- Open the game in Chrome.
- Tap the Install the game button on the game's game over screen, or tap the ⋮ menu at the top right and choose Install app (on some phones it says Add to Home screen).
- Tap Install. The game appears on your Home Screen and in your app list.
Samsung Internet
- Tap the ☰ menu at the bottom right.
- Choose Add page to, then Home screen, and confirm with Add.
Computer
Chrome and Edge (Windows, Mac, Linux, Chromebook)
- Open the game.
- Click the install icon at the right end of the address bar, or press the game's Install the game button (key I) on the game over screen.
- Click Install. The game opens in its own window and gets a desktop or Start menu icon.
Safari on a Mac
- Open the game, then choose File → Add to Dock.
Questions
Is it safe?
Yes. Nothing is downloaded from an app store and the game asks for no permissions. It is the same web page, only opened like an app.
Will I keep my progress?
On Android and computers the app shares its progress with the browser. On iPhone and iPad the Home Screen app keeps its own progress, separate from Safari, so it starts fresh the first time.
How do I remove it?
Touch and hold the icon and choose Remove App (iPhone) or Uninstall (Android). On a computer open the game's window menu and choose Uninstall.
